This fall we hired a research assistant for our new research project on intimate partner abuse and the Church in Quebec. An advisory committee of Christian therapists, social workers, and researchers has been working with us as we design our initial survey. The survey will be sent to over 1000 Quebecois Christians.
Our goal is to understand how the Church is currently dealing with conjugal violence and to reflect, together, on how to practically equip people of faith to better respond to this urgent issue. We will hold focus groups, interview sessions with survivors and information and round table discussions with faith communities and their leaders across the province.
This is an amazing opportunity to draw near to a serious issue facing the church, offering a ministry of presence and support.
