You(th) Church, our downtown network of youth groups, invites local churches and their youth to draw near to one another and near to God’s mission. After a successful summer internship program, six youth groups have continued to meet Friday evenings two times each month for fellowship and for serving.
In October, over 50 kids made nearly 30 apple pies for a local homeless shelter. These evenings are loud, chaotic, and beautiful! Youth minister, June Lashley, shares that a major impact of this initiative is that youth have learned that they can have an impact on the world around them. The gatherings continue to break down isolation and expose youth to hands-on ministry.
