July 1st marks a day of appreciation for the country that we call home. It can be difficult to know how to recognize this day while striking a balance of gratitude and social awareness. We choose to hold space for the many ways of expressing acknowledgement and to embrace a posture of reflective prayer; for our leaders, our communities, our homes and for ourselves.
Our Urban Lab cohort, made up of eleven summer staff, dedicated time this week to writing this prayer over our nation. We welcome you to join us as we invite the healing power of Jesus to be at work among us.
|| God, our Healer and Comforter, Who rules above all nations, We ask that you bring truth and reconciliation to our communities, to bind our wounds and bring abundant life to all. We invite your redemptive power to meet us so that we can learn, become humble, and teachable. May we reflect Your Kingdom, and work diligently to lift others up. In the name of Jesus, the Mediator and Peace-Maker, Amen. ||
