Officer
Christian Direction
The Research Support Officer will function as the research assistant to the lead researcher of our study on churchgoing women’s experiences of domestic violence in Quebec. The research support officer will assist with data analysis, researching academic and social resources, and in the drafting of research reports.
Job Posting
Time commitment – 30 hours a week
Hourly rate – $15.50 (including increase in minimum wage of May 1st, 2023)
Start date – May 1st, 2023
End date – August 18, 2023/16 weeks
This summer job is offered in collaboration with Service Canada and is conditional to the provision of a federal grant. The applicant must be at least 15 years old and no more than 30 years old at the moment of hiring.
Responsibilities

The research support officer will assist with data analysis, researching academic and social resources, and in the drafting of research reports

Attending staff meetings and weekly Urban Labs

Specific tasks include:

Performing statistical analysis of 500-1000 survey results

Development of a resource database (books, academic articles, etc.) on domestic violence in Quebec

Development of a community map & database of social resources in Quebec

Qualifications
-
Comfortable in English and French
-
Required skills: Experience in statistical analysis (using R, Stata, or another program), research, academic reading, critical thinking, teamwork, communication, digital literacy

Christian Direction has several ministry sites located in five boroughs in Montréal, but is also doing ministry elsewhere in Quebec.
