West Island Network
The West Island Network (WIN) is an initiative of Christian Direction Inc. (CDI), an urban Christian ministry that partners with congregations and social service agencies for the social and spiritual transformation of youth, families, and their communities. The WIN exists to connect and resource Christ-following churches to serve their communities.

Job Posting
Time commitment – 30 hours a week
Pay scale – $14.50/h
Start date – May 16th 2022
End date – August 5th, 2022
This summer job is offered in collaboration with Service Canada and is conditional to the provision of a federal grant. The applicant must be at least 15 years old and no more than 30 years old at the moment of hiring.
Responsibilities

Attend biweekly staff check-ins and prayer meetings, WIN staff meetings and other supplementary training
Administration & Community Engagement:
-
Sit in on Community Action and Impact Team (CAIT) meetings

Assist with the development, organization, and running of event (including The Big Give)

Promote and develop community outreach actions through virtual and safe in-person means, such as helping residents participate in food drives
-
Referring residents to social services and assisting in food security events or activities.

Participating in debrief sessions after events or activities and at the end of the summer.

Helping Eglise Oasis and Church 21 animate activities and community outreach with the Coverdale Co-Op, including safe social-distancing children's activities, sports and fitness clinics
Communications:
-
Creating & posting content to Facebook & Instagram

Website upkeep

Creating mailchimp campaigns for the members of WIN and other partners
Qualifications
-
Comfortable in English and French
-
Required skills: teamwork, leadership, communication, digital literacy

Experience in administration, communications, or event planning and management a plus

Christian Direction is a Christian organisation. Its vision is to see God transform all of life in urban communities by the concerted actions of committed Christians. It fulfils its vision through partnerships with churches that are committed towards their local community and doing ministries with committed Christians. Christian Direction has several ministry sites located in five boroughs in Montréal, but is also doing ministry elsewhere in Quebec.
