This summer, my bike was stolen in the middle of the day outside our office downtown. The same morning, two of our staff arrived at Innovation Youth to discover there had been a disturbing altercation during the night. It was the start of a challenging week.
Our cities can be places of conflict and violence. But Jesus calls us to establish God’s reign of peace where there is rivalry. What would a city look like if there were no rivalry? It would be a city where God’s shalom peace reigns, where isolation is met with caring relationships, where rivalry is countered with equity and where violence is dispelled with compassion. Jesus said, “Blessed are the peace-makers.” God’s reign and rule can only find home in our world through people committed to “Peace-making”. I’m so delighted to share with you how our team is working to make, “God’s kingdom come, and God’s will accomplished on earth as it is in heaven.”
