To help new immigrants who face the double challenge of learning French and English in Quebec, Richard Platt directs teams of volunteers who offer language courses in a welcoming “home away from home” Christian atmosphere. To experience québécois culture - in the city or to admire God’s handiwork in the beautiful natural settings of Québec - Richard and Haruyo Platt are hosts for several activities and outings each year for new immigrants to Quebec. From skiing in winter to festivals and camps in summer, they help new friends, especially from Asian countries, to get a taste of the strong flavours of Quebec heritage and culture.
